Graphic Design Services

Since there are so many graphic design products (business cards, brochures, flyers, postcards, door hangers, package design, etc.) available, and because they aren’t requested as often as logo or web projects, I don’t normally offer direct buys here on the website for many of them.

Know

Before You Buy

I not only believe and stand firm on being completely transparent in all my dealings, but over the years I’ve learned that my clients should be aware of what’s needed on their part to ensure the design process is equitably smooth for all parties involved. So, below I’ve outlined the frequently asked questions, the checklist, and the design process specific to my graphic design services.

Frequently Asked Questions

I have a graphic design project I need completed, but it's not listed as one of the graphic design services you offer. Will you still take on the project?

Absolutely! Over the years I’ve created and worked on a variety of common and uncommon designs. I just listed the more common designs that are requested more often. If you have a project you need tackled, just contact me and let’s talk!

Many design firms/freelancers require a contract before committing to work or rendering services. Do you require any sort of contract?

Absolutely. However, to streamline my design processes, I have generalized all my contracts. What this means is that, by placing your order with me here online, you agree to the terms of these contracts. For your complete convenience I’ve made all contracts available for viewing and/or downloading on the contracts page.

Although you offer pre-priced or bundled products, can I buy designs without the extras or prints?

Absolutely. If there’s a service you’re interested in without extras or prints, just contact me for a free no obligation quote. Note: standalone designs may be billed at an hourly rate.

If you quote me a certain price before I commit, will that price change during the design process?

As long as your needs don’t change from the initial needs you stated at the time of the quote, No. If, however, your needs increase after the initial quote then the price may differ from the price quoted.

Do you charge an hourly fee or a flat fee for your design/development services?

I offer many service buys that are pre-priced, if you will, which saves you money in the long run. However, for custom projects or projects that exceed beyond the package price I do charge an hourly rate. Please see my pricing rates page for complete details.

When you create/design my project, will I own the exclusive rights to it?

Absolutely! The design I create/design for you is yours free and clear, to use when and wherever you choose. You will own the exclusive rights to the design as well as any and all files associated with your design.

What file formats will my design be saved in?

I save and deliver/ship your design to you in a few different hi-res (high resolution) file formats, which include PDF, TIFF, PNG, JPEG as well as in the file format that the design was created/designed in (i.e. .ai = Aobe Illustrator, .afdesign = Affinity Designer, .cdr = CorelDRAW, etc.).

What exactly are Revision Credits?

Revision credits are the number of times you can have your design re-worked without charge after the first initial mockup/design is submitted to you for approval.

Once you exceed the credits given to you with your purchase or quote, you will be charged/billed at an hourly rate (please see pricing rates page for rates specific to each service offering) for each additional revision over. Each credit is worth or equal to one revision.

Still have questions?

Since I can’t possibly address every question and/or concern here, I encourage you to see FAQs specific to each service offering. Additionally, you can contact me for any and all questions and/or concerns you may have.

Graphic Design Checklist

There are a couple things you may want to have in place before or immediately after placing your graphic design order. These items are as follows:

Content
Having your own content can save you a lot of time and in some instances money as well. If however, you do not have your own images, text, etc. I will acquire what I can from my own content libraries.
Graphics Content Submission
When submitting graphic content (i.e. images, pictures, etc.), to save space and download time I ask that you zip your files before e-mailing them to me (or you can use Dropbox or a similar free to low cost service to send me a download link to the content). This also applies to any video or movie files as well.
Text Content Submission
When submitting text content to me, I prefer you do so using any of the following file types: docx, doc, pdf, txt, ott or odt. Again, although these files types don’t tend to be as large as image or video files, I would prefer if you zipped them before e-mailing them to me (or utilize a free or low cost file storage service like Dropbox).
Know Your Colors!
Since this is your design, you should have a general idea of what colors you what your project to be before starting. You can provide me with this info (as well as any other information regarding your design during our initial meeting and/or correspondence).

Because colors onscreen can differ slightly from colors off screen, be ready to see a slight shift in shade/hue (i.e. lightness or darkness) to your color choices when displaying your logo or other imagery online and offline. Below I’ve provided some color F.Y.I. to help you understand this disparity between online and offline colors.

RGB (Red, Green & Blue)
RGB stands for Red Green and Blue, which are the basis for all colors you see online. All colors rendered online are made up of a lesser or greater amount of each of these three colors. Without going into a lot of technical jargon, RGB colors tend to be brighter than their off screen counter part (see below).
CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow & Black)
CMYK on the other hand are the colors of the print world. CMYK stands for Cyan or “C”, Magenta or “M”, Yellow or “Y” and Black or “K”. Again colors that you see on every thing from business cards to retail packaging are made up of a lesser or greater amount of these four colors. Although, CMYK colors tend to be less bright than RGB colors, they can still be vibrant and rich in color.

The Graphic Design Process

Designed to eliminate the high cost, hassle and frustration to graphic design services, I try and make the design process as smooth and simple as possible. However, before we begin the design process I ask that you, if possible, complete the graphic design checklist (see previous and adjacent tab). By ensuring this checklist is completed, you will minimize the time needed to complete your project.

Once you have successfully completed the items in the graphic design checklist the design process will involve a multi step process, which has been outlined below:

Purchase your package
The first order of business involves purchasing the graphic design package that best fits your situation as well as your budget (or paying the invoice I submitted to you if this is a quoted custom buy).
Gather and Organize Content
Soon after your purchase (usually within 24 to 72hrs), I will be contacting you and establishing best contact times for you, as well as gathering or requesting additional information and/or design content from you (i.e. copy/text, images, etc.) for the design of your project.
Create a mockup
When all information and content is gathered, a mockup will be created based on all the information and content you provided to me during our initial meeting or correspondence. Once you approve or exercise revision credits the actual design will be created based on the approved and/or updated mockup.
Submit revised or final design for your approval
Once this revised or final design is completed it will be submitted to you for your approval. If you decide to have your design re-worked, I will re-work your design to your new or added suggestions and feedback. Once done I will re-submit the design for another preliminary or final approval.
Submission of your files
After your expressed approval, I will create the final design/s and then I will either provide a link to download, deliver in-person or ship any and all products and/or files associated with your project to you.
